Ingredients

2 heaped cups

plain flour

 

1/2 tsp

salt

 

 heaped tsp

baking powder

 

2 tbs

sugar

 

4 oz

suet

 

5 oz

currants

 

Method

finely chop the suet

into a bowl put the flour, salt, baking powder and sugar

mix well and then add the suet and currants and mix again

add enough water to make the mix into a soft paste

EITHER

make into dumplings the size of an egg and steam over boiling water for 30 minutes

OR

leave as a large pudding and steam over boiling water for 1 hour 30 min's
