Sponge and apple pudding for invalids

sponge cakes

sponge fingers

1/2 lb

apples

pears can also be used

1/2 pint

milk

 

1 tbs

sugar

 

Method

peel, core and then slice the apples

slice the sponge cakes

put a layer of sponge cake on the bottom of a small pie dish

4

add a layer of apples and sprinkle with sugar

5

repeat these layers until the pie dish is full finishing so that a layer of sponge is on top

pour the milk over the layers so that it soaks in

7

bake in a moderate oven for 30 minutes
