grease a basin
|

chop the figs and suet finely and mix with all of the dry ingredients

beat the agg and milk together and pour into the dry ingredients mixing well
|

|
put the moist mixture into the basin
|

EITHER

|
tie a pudding cloth to the top and boil in water for 3 to 4 hours
|

OR

|
cover the top with greasproof paper and steam for about 2 hrs 30 min's
|
|
9
|
turn the pudding out onto a plate and serve
