Cabbage Soup

finely shredded cabbage
1 dessertspoon
finely chopped onion
1/2 tsp
parsley
1 .5 pints
water
1/2 pint
milk
1 tbsp
crushed tapioca
sago is also fine
salt
1/8 tsp
pepper
1/2 oz
butter
low fat cooking spread suitable
Method

Put the shredded cabbage into a large saucepan with water, bring to the boil and strain

Return the cabbage to the pan and add 1.5 pints of boiling water,milk, onion, parsley , butter , salt and pepper.

Boil gently for 15 minutes

Sprinkle in the tapioca and cook for about 10 minutes until the tapioca becomes transparent

Serve
